Muscle and Tendon Injuries
Pain in any area of the body can result from direct injury or as a result
of doing things incorrectly over time. The jobs we do, the way we sleep,
the activities we participate in for enjoyment, the way we are put together
(mentally and physically) can all contribute to aches and pains that need
to be addressed.
Specific problems that can be addressed by physical therapy are:
- Headaches.
- Plantar fasciitis.
- Neck pain.
- Back pain.
- Medial and/or lateral epicondylitis.
- Shoulder pain.
- Wrist and hand pain.
- Carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Varicose veins.
- Sciatica.
- Nerve Irritation.
Physical therapy intervention can help with:
- Exercises to strengthen weak muscles or stretch tight muscles.
- Supports to rest overused tendons.
- Strategies to reduce the “wear and tear” on the body.
- Posture instructions.
- Modalities for pain relief (massage and other manual therapy techniques including dry needling,
electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat and cold).
